1. Introduction

Federatie Beeldrechten is a collaboration between the copyright organisation Pictoright and seven professional organisations representing the interests of designers, illustrators, photographers, photojournalists, and visual artists. The federation works together to improve the copyright position of these creators.

Tasks of Federatie Beeldrechten and Processing of Personal Data

Creating a better copyright position for visual creators begins with researching and making transparent what happens in professional practice. Various working groups within Federatie Beeldrechten work on dossiers about current issues in the field of copyright. The federation identifies where power imbalances exist and seeks solutions. Together, we conduct lobbying efforts to motivate politicians and policymakers to take action.

When performing the tasks of Federatie Beeldrechten, we process personal data. This processing occurs in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant legislation.

In these cases, Federatie Beeldrechten can only provide services when you provide the necessary personal data to us.

  • Vital interests: processing personal data to the extent necessary to protect your vital interests or those of another natural person.

  • Legitimate interests: processing personal data to the extent necessary for the legitimate interests of Federatie Beeldrechten or third parties. Our legitimate interests include: maintaining international cooperation agreements, providing information about our tasks, relationship management, information and communication, business operations, campaigns, meetings, website optimisation, and research.

Complaints

If you believe that the legal provisions regarding privacy protection are not correctly implemented by Federatie Beeldrechten, you can submit a written complaint to us. You can also always submit a complaint to the supervisory authority, which in the Netherlands is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Dutch Data Protection Authority). However, we appreciate it if you first present the reason for the complaint to us so that we can jointly find a solution.
